What is model villages of natural ecology |

They are the village where natural environment is well-preserved, villagers lives in harmony with nature, and villagers make effort to have eco-friendly life style. The villages are a typical rural or mountain village of 20-50 houses. They have a very fine natural view. Many kinds of wild plants or animals such as an otter which is a natural monument live and various ecology system is established. Local residents enjoy eco-friendly life by doing organic agricultural techniques and establish voluntarily 'Local Residents Association' to develop natural environment preservation activity. They keep environment well and make every effort to preserve traditional nature. |

In Feb. 2002, the Ministry of Environment invited nation to join the successful example contest of preserving natural ecology well or restoring damaged ecology system well and finally selected 14 villages. |
